This week I said goodbye to Sister Cheyne! I got to meet her dad and she is now touring around the mission with him and giving him a little taste of what mission life is like!

This week we went on exchanges and I got to be with Sister Auva'a for the day! We went to their district council and had to give the elders a ride. One of the elders has been really sick so we took him some food and let the elders give him a blessing.

On Wednesday we had our last district lunch ever... We aren't allowed to have district lunches anymore but we had fun at 5 guys for our last lunch together!

Then of course we took a lot of pictures for Sister Cheyne because she was leaving so we got pictures with our investigators and with some of our members that we are closest to!

Then we had ZTC and took a picture as a zone.

Then the next day we had interviews and I talked to President about what's going on with my companion situation and we still don't know! So for now I'm with Sister Vandervelde and Sister Cutrer! We are having fun so far :) This week was super busy but so great! Our investigator Darralee is getting baptized on Saturday and I'm so excited for her!

Hope everyone is doing great! Love you all!

Ready to hear about the longest week of my life?

So it started out with me stepping in wet concrete.. We were walking out of our complex to go visit some people across the street and of course I stepped in a random pile of wet concrete!

After that we were walking down the street and ran into a couple and their son who said "are you on your way back from trying to visit us?" Sister Cheyne and I looked at each other and said "who are you?" She said she was a member of the church and that she wanted us to start teaching her husband so he can get baptized because they want to to be sealed in the temple! We were so excited and they are so ready! So now we have an awesome family we are teaching!

We continued to walk and we were so excited about what had just happened and I was trying to put the information about our next teaching appointment into my iPad when I was inches away from stepping on a DEAD DUCK. There was just a random dead duck in the middle of the sidewalk..

Then I was trying to see if I had gotten all of the concrete off of my shoe and almost fell into a busy road..

After that we were able to visit a less active family and play with a kitten! The mom is actually allergic to cats and their vacuum had broken so we offered to bring our vacuum over the next day and vacuum for her so she could have some relief from the cat hair in the house. When we went over the next day, the kitten was trying to bite her daughter's face and then was attacking Sister Cheyne so I was trying to keep the cat from them and as a result of that I got my hand all torn up..

The next day we went over to another less active's home and I asked her if we could meet her dog because we never got to and I love dogs.. She said okay and went and got the dog.. The dog apparently has a licking problem and wanted to lick my face and over shot.. So she hit my nose really hard with her open mouth... And now my nose hurts...

So that was my fun week..

Then we got to see President Nelson! It was such an amazing spiritual experience and he helped me with a lot of questions that I had. I love being a missionary and being able to be around amazing people!

I also got to meet my Cousin Elder Heppler!

And I got to see an old member.

Love you all!

Have I mentioned I love being a missionary? For all but 19 days of
2016, I was a missionary. Sadly, I won't be able to say that about 2017.
This is the year that I have to go home and honestly, that scares me.
Being a missionary is the greatest blessing of my life and I don't want that to end. I love everyone back home so much but this place and these people have my heart. The last week I've been reflecting on that a lot. I'm about to hit a year in the mission and it's going by way too fast for me.
This week we were able to find so many amazing people and I'm exhausted. Thank goodness for P-Days because without them I'm pretty sure every missionary would die.
There are so many amazing people here in my new area and those people make the exhaustion worth it. Sister Cheyne and I are having lots of fun and working hard for her last few weeks in the mission. She really is a blessing!
We have a few baptisms coming up and all of the people we are teaching are amazing! I definitely feel like I'm here for a reason and I'm excited to find out what that reason is!
Of course new area so I found new animals to hold! I hope you guys are enjoying my animal pictures because they aren't going to stop. These little kids love their pets they got for Christmas and had to show them off to us at dinner!

Also our District Leader had a meeting he had to go to the other day but they ran out of miles and had to use our car.. and I forgot my iPad in the car when they took it.. so embarrassing pictures of them for payback because they took up a whole bunch of space on my iPad..

and one of our members made us lava cake last night!

I love you all! Happy New Year!

It rained!!! And we hiked in it! We had a zone meeting his week and went to black mountain and hiked in our skirts! It gave me a little taste of home and also reminded me that I am able to feel so much closer to my Heavenly Father when it's raining. As we hiked we would stop and talk about different times in Christ's life. We were able to stand up there in the fog and the rain with our district and bear testimony of the savior and his atonement. The mission is such an amazing place to be during Christmas! I've learned so much more about my savior.
So the elders in Boulder City were both from Washington State and Sister Foulke and I were from Oregon!  So it was the PNW missionaries!

We took over Boulder City!

We went to Searchlight and saw a Joshua tree forest!

The hike!

Christmas call home

Christmas was amazing and I'm so thankful for all of the wonderful Christmas messages that were sent my way!
We had some sad but exciting news this week as well! There was a sister in Henderson that was in need of a companion so there was some switching around in the mission. So today I got transferred to Henderson! My new companion is Sister Cheyne from Australia. She will be going home in 4 weeks so I'm changing companions like crazy! I miss Sister Foulke a lot already and it was really hard saying goodbye to her.. we were only together for 4 weeks so we are a little upset.. but Sister Cheyne is great and I'm sure we will have fun!

I love you guys so much! Hope you had a great Christmas!
